Big Decision

I have had this in my mind for a long while now. It started thanks to Maria, but to be honest, it was probably bound to happen.

I'm gonna sell off my boy dolls.
This doesn't include Cody (because he's a YoSD and they don't count xD) and Morgan (because she's genderfluid), but otherwise, I'm gonna sell Nasim, Felix, Desmond, Chris and Milo.
I like my guys, but they're just not getting any attention at all. I don't feel any inspiration for them, and I rarely buy stuff for them.

It's not a decision I feel very sad about. It's a bit sad, but I think it makes more sense to sell them, when I don't feel the need to own them.

  1. I totally get it! and it's okay~ There's no point in hoarding dolls if you don't plan on doing anything with them. And hey, those funds can help you fulfill other plans, in life and with your other dolls :D
It will be sad to see some characters go, but I think you already are pretty sure about it, so that's what matters the most. Parting with dolls can be sad, but when you are sure you just know it's the right thing to do
Glad to see Morgan and Cody are staying!

    1. Yeah, I was a bit overwhelmped by the sheer amount of dolls and heads I have now, and when I noticed some of them (the boys) are not really being used, then I thought it would make most sense to sell them. :)
I'm gonna keep the characters, but just not the resin shells. Otherwise the story me and Maria have doesn't make sense XD
But she did the exact same thing. Kept her boy characters, but sold them off.

  2. I get the feeling, I don't get along with boy dolls that well either. I do love them in other people's collections and photos, but somehow I don't give much attention to my own boy dolls while the girls get all the attention and camera time :/

Hopefully the decision of letting go of the boy dolls is the right one for you and makes you happy! :)

    1. Exactly! I love some boy sculpts, but it's even very rare for me to have them as "grails". All my favorite sculpts are girl sculpts.
It's very clear for me by now, that I just prefer to enjoy boy dolls in pictures.

      Thank you :D

  3. Hi Nikki,
Understand where you're coming from, I don't have many boys in my collection for the same reason. The ones I do have, do get attention, but still not as much as my girls. Boy dolls aren't for everyone and you have to follow your heart and enjoy the hobby in a way that's right for you.
    Hugs,
    X

    1. It's so funny, because in the beginning I preffered boy dolls, but now, I just feel no inspiration for them at all.
And thank you for being understanding :)

  5. I can understand this and I am glad that you feel OK with your decision. These kind of decisions are never easy to take. A doll collection should make you happy and give you energy, and if it does not feel right, it is always good to make some changes. Good luck with the sales.

    1. Yeah, I think I'm pretty content with it all, even though I wanted to change a bit around on some story details. :3 But only for the better, I think!
That's true :) The most important thing is to be happy :D
